Congratulations to Dr Jerry Workman for winning the 2020 Gold Medal Award from the New York Society for Applied Spectroscopy

Date 17 February 2020
Dr Jerry Workman

World Scientific author Dr Jerry Workman has been named as co-winner of the 2020 New York Society for Applied Spectroscopy Gold Medal Award. The Gold Medal Award was established in 1952 to recognize outstanding contributions to the field of applied spectroscopy.

Dr Workman's co-winner of the awarded was Dr Howard Mark. This year's award recognizes the winners for their contributions, individually and as a team, to the field of near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy and chemometrics, leading to a wider adoption of the technology in the spectroscopy community.

Dr Workman is the author of The Concise Handbook of Analytical Spectroscopy: Theory, Applications, and Reference Materials published by World Scientific. The five-volume reference work covers the theory, instrumentation, sampling methods, experimental design, and data analysis techniques, as well as essential reference tables, figures, and spectra for each spectroscopic region.

The awards will be presented to the winners at an award symposium at the 2020 Eastern Analytical Symposium in November, in New Jersey.
